On Wednesday, the Yahoo! Search Blog reported some nifty updates, mainly to its indexing system. Changes included “fresh web data and updates to [Yahoo!] crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms.”
Yahoo! maintains that the full site update will be “completed very soon.”
This blog post is the first time we’ve heard from Yahoo! since the updates began. The latest launch was of the Yahoo! Dynamic URL Rewriting in Site Explorer. This feature has received positive feedback; relevant URLs are a significant element of off-page SEO, so be sure you know about search engine-friendly URLs!
Based on suggestions and feedback by site owners, Yahoo! revamped its URL rewriting feature and reported that “sites should [see] smarter crawling from Yahoo! Slurp.”
Yahoo! fully encourages interaction and feedback, insisting that “your input improves relevance and coverage for users in search results, particularly in relation to your site.”
