On Wednesday, Reuters reported that Apple has released a software patch to help with the recently discovered glitches in its popular mobile device, the iPhone. Late last week I wrote about the numerous complaints worldwide about dropped calls and connection issues with the iPhone 3G. Many speculated that the problems were attributed to the phone’s chipset, manufactured by German electronic company, Infineon Technologie. It appears that Infineon is denying responsibility and instead claiming that it has not encountered any other problems with its chipsets, which are also used in Samsung mobile phones. In the mean time, the Apple software, which is only available as a direct download, will hopefully “help fix connection problems” however as Reuters writes, it is “not yet clear if the upgrade would fix all the connection problems.” |
