Find an informative blog post or interesting article and would like to share on Twitter? This multi-step process of painstakingly changing browser tabs, copy and pasting URL's, etc, etc, is not the smoothest way of sharing information. After all, this is the "connected generation" we're living in, so do we not expect more? Of course we do! Luckily, the rumors are confirmed as Twitter announces the launch of its new "Tweet" button. Phew!

On August 12, the popular social networking site introduced the "Tweet" button in order to enhance sharing capabilities for members. The new icon, which can be seen amongst other "share" icons, is located next to rivals like Facebook, Digg and Stumbleupon. Twitter aims to replace its "Retweet" icon with new "Tweet" button, in order to give all members the ability to share in a quicker way.

Recent news suggests that Twitters is leaving third party provider Tweetmeme with the launching of the new button; however, according to Tweetmeme's blog, the company says "we are very pleased to be partnering with them to continue to grow the overall Twitter ecosystem." The blog post continues with a positive future for both companies, as Tweetmeme will assist Twitter with technical aspects of the new button and other real-time endeavors.

The new button is more efficient as it allows members to share by never having to leave the page they are currently browsing. It also provides related recommendations, which is a good way for companies to network via real-time. Although the button is new, companies and bloggers should take advantage of Twitters latest enhancement in social networking. Since a large majority of Tweets contain links, the new button will provide a much heavier traffic flow for websites. Also, want your website to look popular? The number next to the "Tweet" button will allow visitors to see how many people have "Tweeted" a particular article or blog post. Twitter says, "Recreational bloggers to large media companies can quickly and easily add the Tweet Button to their sites." So why not start now?
