New Improvements made to Yahoo! Maps

On Wednesday, Yahoo! posted in its Local & Maps blog official coverage on some recent developments and improvements.

Most of the updates have been made to Yahoo! Maps, and include enhancements for neighborhood data and worldwide coverage.

Additionally, Yahoo! referred to a series of aesthetic updates for a more streamlined appearance.

• “New Neighborhood Data at lower zoom levels with” updated information on major cities such as New York City, Chicago, Toronto, Milwaukee, etc.
• Expanded Worldwide Coverage with extensive information, particularly for regions on Eastern Europe
• New POI information, which focuses on schools, rest stops, ski resorts and the like

Stylistic improvements are said to include features sure as: 

• Hybrid Road and Label colors “adjusted for better legibility”
• Lighter map tiles
