Yes, it is 99% sure that Google is coming out with a Google powered phone, even more interesting is that they are delivering an open source Operating System for the cell phone.
Open Source Cell Phone?
Yeah, it sounds crazy, considering the current cell phone market in the US. Up until now the only report of some cell phone programming has come with the Razor. However this has been nothing more then just a hack. In terms of developing a cell phone specific application; this was not a possibility.
Now, Google is stating that their open source Mobile O/S will allow the development of applications just as they are developed on the internet.
What does this mean?
Big opportunity for anyone and everyone! If you have an idea, develop the idea into an application and the application that takes off; you could enter this new market with a big claim. The internet is so young and now mobile development for the masses will only mean big advancement in what we do with cell phones.
In the end we will see big leaps and bounds if this plays out the way it is supposed to, open source o/s cell phone will provide an enormous opportunity that will create a billion dollar market, in the US alone.
